I'm confused about who does and doesn't have the new xsession and why.
But I assume you are asking how to get "-l" functionality back (and I
guess "-all" as well)?
Add the following lines to /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/Dash:

! Compatibility sets... Should be removed in the future.
!
*set.l: logout
*set.all: default logout
If that's what you want, I'll verify it works and send you a pickup
location for the modified file.

Yes, we are going to need the compatibility. xsession is indeed copied
locally whenever anyone does a "mkserv remote". We may be able to
remove the compatibility prior to 7.2 being frozen, since we hope that
all people have updated. (There is certainly no reason why we should
expect anyone in the field to need the compatibility options). I will
attempt to get a listing of all 7.2 machines that do not have autoupdate
set; this should give us an idea of who may have problems.
