Type and version: RTPC-ROMPC 7.1H
Display type: apa16
I was on a different machine when I encountered the bug; I don't know the
official notations that should go in the blanks, so I'll guess:
System name: w20-575-105
Type and version: VS 3100; 7.2
Display type: ?
What were you trying to do?
Look up an incorrectly spelled word.
What's wrong:
I ran webster on several words. It consistently works on the suggested
test case "tree", and consistently bombs on the misspelled word "shphiel":
athena% webster
Word: shphiel
The webster server has failed to answer the request to look up your word.
This could be because the webster server is down, or because your word is
too long and the server can't find it. Try looking up "tree" -- if that
works, then you've probably misspelled your word. If it fails, then send
mail to bug-sipb@ATHENA.MIT.EDU to let the SIPB know that the server is
broken.
athena% athena%
When it dies, the keyboard no longer echoes whatever I type. Typing tset
fixes it up (though of course the word tset isn't echoed onto the screen).
What should have happened:
On this other machine I'm on now (the first machine above, m2-225-8,
the following happens:
athena% webster
Word: shphiel
No definition for 'shphiel'.
