Yes, it's a feature for saber (though I consider it a misfeature that
it disables the reading of the .saberinit file from the user's home
directory), but it's a misfeature for our hacked-up saber startup
script, which creates it if it isn't already there, as a workaround to
the bug with invoking xterm with the wrong set of arguments. The
global .saberinit file, which is always read, fixes it, but doesn't
take effect until after first-time users are asked if they want help,
which would come up in a new window (or, more to the point, would fail
to).
