(grr. menelaus has an old daemon, so this bounced)
I suggested a while ago that an arg to install be added which would
create the destination directory tree if it did not exist. So
install -D -c -m 555 foo /usr/athena/foo
will create /usr/athena if necessary. This will make exporting
software (if we export our install, which I think we should) much
easier, removing some really ugly kludges from some install scripts
and Makefiles.
If you're changing install, you should consider making this change at
the same time.
