When I tried to reconfigure my RT disk to the new standard partition
sizes, I ran into what seems to be a problem with the "minidisk"
program. The version found in 7.1 /etc/minidisk seems to think
that my hd310H has a cylinder size of 1020 blocks. The version that
is found in sautil (buried in the boot blocks of 7.1) thinks that my
hd310H has a cylinder size of 510 blocks.
Neither of those two versions is willing to create partitions of the
size that I started with on my hd310H, which means that the version of
minidisk that I used back when I first configured the disk (fall,
1988) had a still different opinion of the cylinder size. (As best I
can tell from the partition sizes it left behind, it must have used
either 17 or 34 as the cylinder size.)
So which, if any, of the three minidisks is right?
