emacs dumps core with bus error

this is pretty random, but...

emacs dumped core with bus error,
no chance to save the doc. i was editing a new file, and had read a
large file into the buffer and deleted most of it with the mouse. i
had not saved. error is not a recurring error. coredump is in
/mit/bitbucket/jh.emacs.core. delete it from there or tell me when it
no longer needs to be there and i will.
