The man page for viewscribe is somewhat misleading, in that it says:

Here is a small example of what you might put in a
     .postpsfonts file:
     number_of_fonts 5
     /Times-Roman 10 -adobe-times-medium-r-normal--10-100-75-
     75-p-54-iso8859-1
     /Times-Bold 10 -adobe-times-bold-r-normal--10-100-75-
     75-p-57-iso8859-1
     /Times-Italic 10 -adobe-times-medium-i-normal--10-100-75-
     75-p-52-iso8859-1
     /Symbol 8 -adobe-symbol-medium-r-normal--8-80-75-
     75-p-51-adobe-fontspecific
     /Symbol 10 -adobe-symbol-medium-r-normal--10-100-75-
     75-p-61-adobe-fontspecific

That is not exactly what you'd want to put in a .postpsfonts file; some
users will type that in/cut and paste it and include the linebreaks, which
causes viewscribe to die with a bad font error. There should be some
warning on the man page the the lines aren't exactly as they should be in
your file, but instead each font should be on a line by itself.

The whole man page should probably be checked over for accuracy- there's
other errors in it as well- the screen fonts aren't in Stafftools, for
example.
