The feature was not deleted by Release Engineering, but rather replaced
by a few people (mar, probe, qjb ... not R/E) because of operational
concerns that were raised earlier and not heeded. Software in conflict
with operational requirements in the release is dealt with as best as
possible, given time constratints of the release; you left us no time to
do anything other than a replacement with the old AFS module.
As per the later AFS meeting, the inlining of the AFS authentication
seems to be out, but patches to aklog/attach that comply with the
current requirements are always welcome.

The subscriptions generated by aklog -zsubs are easily confused with host
names. There should be a character in the subscription which is illegal in
a hostname. The attach which I wrote for 7.1 subscribed to instances
beginning with "afs:". This feature was deleted by release engineering.
