you have to be more specific:  you were using MH on which workstation
type (VAX or RT), and under which software release (production 5.5T,
or a tester 6.0 release).

it looks more like *you* modified the headers, since mh doesn't take
information from the "From:" header of a message and put it into the
"Reply-To:" field of a reply.  Maybe you can examine this phenomenon
again and provide a more accurate description of what's happening?
