Hi,
I am trying to telnet to athena using "telnet 18.80.0.8", and
"telnet 18.80.0.9" and both are timing out. How can I access athena through
telnet?

First of all, in the future, please send dialup problems to
bug-dialup, not to bugs.
Second, 18.80.0.8 and 18.80.0.9 have not been valid dialup addresses
for Project Athena for at least six months. You should use the
address "athena.dialup.mit.edu". If your host is not smart enough to
be able to do hostname lookup on that hostname, then you should telnet
to relay.mit.edu (18.71.0.9), and that will provide you with a list of
other addresses to which you can telnet in order to log in.
