nfsc should use the credentials file to make mappings, just like
rpc.mountd does. As it is, I must resort to user-ids, since most
people are not in /etc/passwd on our NFS server. Even then groups do
not work. Furthermore, nfsc cannot even load a database that it just
saved, if any of the numeric entries in that database are not in
/etc/passwd.
I would be happy to elaborate on any of this if necessary.
