At that time I reported my RT's performance in many things dropped by about
a factor of two when I upgraded from 6.4R to 7.0.

The comparison was between a 6.4R machine and my 7.0 machine with the
same hardware configuration and the same disk partitioning. The 6.4 was
also running on top of 7.0 packs. See that discuss meeting for more
details.

When I recently had my hard disk upgraded to 70M and partitioned it for
30M swap, the performance returned to the pre-7.0 with 16M swap level.

So the question is, why is the new release crippled by having only 16M
of swap? This question may be moot since the RT's have been repartitioned.
On the other hand, there may still be something wrong somewhere, which
may or may not manifest itself as swap space becomes tight.
