Take an emacs window, or an xterm without scrollbars. Place it within a
very few pixels of the left side of your screen. Now, take your cursor
and move it to the left of the window. It turns into an X, right? Now
drag it to the right, going into the window. And lo! It stays an X!
it doesn't turn into a vertical bar.
I did this on my workstation. When I started up my twm (off the packs)
I had a two-line .twmrc. The lines looked like this:

{ "zwgc" "xclock" "xload" "Xsaver" }
lwvanels tried it on his workstation. He was running the desk-manager
version of twm out of the windowmanagers locker. He got the same
behavior as I did.
The bug does NOT appear for windows with scrollbars, icons, or
zephyrgrams.
