What were you trying to do?
I changed the mode of an emacs buffer in a split screen (2 windows)
from emacs-lisp- to fundamental- mode by using "ESC F" which I have mapped
using (define-key esc-map "F" 'fundamental-mode).
What's wrong:
Emacs does not update the status line. It continues to say
"emacs-lisp" even though the mode has in fact changed to fundamental.
Pressing ^G or ^L will correct the display.
What should have happened:
The part of the status line that says (Emacs-lisp) should have read
(Fundamental)
