I couldn't type in any windows and had to "push the button" to reboot.
I received several "mwm: Insufficient memory for client window
framing" messages.
Sounds to me like your mwm crashed, and left you without focus in any
of your windows. If this is the case, there isn't much we can do
about it without an mwm coredump to examine.
In any case, if this happens again, there is a way to get back
keyboard focus without having to reboot the machine. Bring up the
ctrl-left-button menu on one of your xterms, and select the "secure
keyboard" option, which will give that xterm keyboard focus. Then,
start up a window manager in that xterm, and after it has started,
things should be back to normal (remember to turn off the secure
keyboard).
