Thank you for your bug report about gks and 7.0. In the future, please
use the "sendbug" program to send in bug reports as it will give us more
information and enable us to help you better.
The problem is because of a bug being utilized in the R3 X library,
which gks was linked against which is being trapped by the R4 X server.
Until the programs are recompiled, I suggest you use the command
xset bc
to enable bug-compatibility for the R3 clients. I have tested a few of
the programs in the path you indicated (/mit/igks/vaxbin) and they
appear to work.
