What were you trying to do?
I am on a 6.4 machine, but running x11r4. I use the r4 version of XTerm,
Xrdb, etc. (x11r4 is first on my path.) I did:
xrdb -load -DX11R4 ~/.Xresources
What's wrong:
I had a duplicate line: line 360 and 365 where the same. However, the
message I got from xrdb was:
/afs/rel-eng/project/x11r4/install/@sys/usr/bin/X11/xrdb: "appts*bottomShadowPi
xmap" on line 348 overrides entry on line 343
i.e., the line numbers were off by a couple lines.
What should have happened:
The line numbers should've been correct.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
My .Xresources is readable. The problem is probably because I have some
resources for input translations which span several lines, which probably
screws up the line counter for xrdb. However, I see no reason why xrdb
should not be able to keep an accurate line count.
