System name: mozart
Type and version:	MVAX-II 6.4R
Display type: QVSS

What were you trying to do?
Run a program that has a font path containing a capital letter.

	Specifically,

	/afs/athena/astaff/project/cT/{vax,rt}/runctb <filename>

'runctb' is a script that sets a font path:
	setenv CTFONTS /afs/athena.mit.edu/astaff/project/cT/common/vax

and then executes the file 'ctb'.

What's wrong:
On a machine running X11R4 an error message is generated to the
effect that it cannot find the fonts. If I copy the fonts
directory to /tmp/vax, so that there is no capital letter in the
pathname and change the setenv line, the program executes. If
I change /tmp/vax to /tmp/Vax in both places, it doesn't.

What should have happened:
On a machine running X11R3 the program understands the font path
and executes correctly. This may a situation that we wil have
to live with when we switch to X11R4, unless we can compensate
	for it in the system.
