Sorry to bother you if you're not the right person for this, but I
just wanted to make a suggestion. If you're not the suggestion person, please
forward this to someone who can do something about it.
Most users of athena are not computer hackers, but just people who want
to type papers and things. You should try to provide the nicest default
environment that you can, and the only people who might not like it are those
who will know enough to be able to change it. You did a good job of this by
adding the "mwm" window manager as the default.
You should make "set lineedit" the default. I pity poor souls who
are constantly retyping the same line, just because no one told them about
"set lineedit". Talk of customizing their .environment files or .cshrc.mine
files generally either strikes fear into their hearts, or is met with
utterly blank stares.
I understand that you are coming out with a new athena release soon.
Please make "set lineedit" the default. Anyone who's smart enough to not want
it will be smart enough to put "unset lineedit" in one of their dot-files.
