In the manual page, it mentions about the variable $output. So, I
decided to only display certain messages based on the type of output I
have... For instance, I don't want to receive "discuss" notifications
while it is ttymode. However, it appears that reading the variable
always returns nothing (now I know why I haven't gotten as many messages
recently).
