WHAT'S WRONG
During an xmh [print] operation, with xmh in the background of a
known xterm, the following appeared:
[3] + Stopped (tty input) xmh
and the xmh was henceforth deaf&dumb. The pull down [Message]
menu remained visible, with the [Print] button highlighted.
REPEAT BY
I have been unable to do so.
DISCUSSION
Foregrounding the process had no effect - i.e. the xmh
remained hung. Neither ^C in the foregrounded process nor
lprm'ing the job the print was trying to submit nor SIGHUP
nor SIGILL had any effect; a .358 SIGKILL was required to
dispatch the miscreant.
Very strange. The hangup may have been related to local net
or fileserver failure as, at that moment, a /bin/ls on my
homedir took >30s before _I_ timed out and went looking for
help.
The (tty input) message from xmh is bogus in any case.
