my apologies: i tried using "sendbug" but i kept biting my ankles,
so...
while reading mail via emacs RMAIL on my PVAX, i did a completely
routine expunge ('x') and had it go into a loop expunging and garbage
collecting over and over again and finally exiting normally. it gave
the normal banner "expunging delete messages...%n" where n = the
current message number. it usually stops when n = the message number
of the last undeleted message. this time, it reverted to 1 and started
again. many times. stoping periodically to garbage collect. it's never
happened to me before but i reliably reproduced it 4 or 5 times. it
didn't do anything really offensive, though...just odd.
