Kubiatowicz <kubitron@ATHENA.MIT.EDU> The new dialup servers seem to negotiate an incorrect baud rate when making a telnet connection. Consequently, the machines that I log into think that I am running at something incredibly high (like 38400 baud). The consequence of this is that things like emacs don't behave in their normal conservative fashion... (i.e. conserving for bandwidth rather than processing power). Granted this can be corrected with a simple "stty 1200", but shouldn't this be happening automagically??? --KUBI--
