For your records (changes notesfile):

The actual bug is that "fs" is not checking for the volume in the cell
of the directory that the mountpoint is being made... It is always
checking the local workstation's cell.  For instance, if my workstation
is in the "athena.mit.edu" cell, and I create mountpoints somewhere
under /afs/rel-eng/, it still looks up the volume in the athena.mit.edu
cell as opposed to the rel-eng.athena.mit.edu cell.

This has already been sent off to Transarc.

Got this (incorrect) error message when in my home directory (cell athena) on
multics (cell athena), creating a mount point for volume `project.web2c' in
mult/project/web2c (cell raeburn); project.web2c does exist in my cell.
