What's wrong:
Somehow the workstation got hosed. I finished asking a question over
the help instance, when suddenly everything just stopped. I could move
my mouse around and everything, but every command i tried to do (like
zwriting, pinging, where, simple RVD commands) would hang. At first I
thought zephyr was down (olcr also wasn't responding), so I called
11-115. Everything seemed fine, kkkken then saw that some of the
machines in this cluster weren't pinging (but others were) inluding
mine. Raul (acevedo) says this is a common occurrence in 38-344--that
one of the RVD servers is screwy. I didn't have enough time to find out
which others were also not pinging. Right after I got off dozois with
kill -1 -1, it seemed to come back fine.
This all could have something to do with something I did--but I wasn't
doing anything when it happened. Also, /usr/adm/messages shows this:
