According to Ron Hoffmann, the PMAX works with modems and the digital
phone, whereas the PVAX doesn't.
If I am not mistaken, both have the same serial hardware, which means
it's just a device driver problem. (Or did comp.sys.dec imply that they
were different hardware configurations?)
