What were you trying to do?
make tar ingore RCS and .o's
What's wrong:
tar does this, but the man pag doesn't document it
What should have happened:
the man page should have mentioned the -F option
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
see the tar man page. It should have something like
-F tells tar not to include in the output archive directorys named
RCS or SCCS or files named "core", "errs" or "a.out" or files ending
in .o
