i see no evidence that this is a problem with comp (indeed, i see
evidence in the comp manpage that it uses a different scheme to
specify which editor to use).
(We're running dangerously close to starting a discussion in "bugs"
:-)
*That's* the problem. Comp uses the "Editor:" field of the
.mh_profile file, while every other program in the civilized Unix
world uses $EDITOR or $VISUAL.
Comp should probably be fixed. Whether or not it will get fixed is,
of course, another issue. Perhaps the fix should be to make it use
$EDITOR as the default, but to have "Editor:" in .mh_profile override,
so people with it already set in .mh_profile won't lose (and we can
take it out of the default .mh_profile file).
