I experienced an unrecoverable problem with hung windows while using
the M-x Spell Buffer command in emacs. I was using a VAXstation 3100,
emacs version 18.54.29, and the initial window configuration with
emacs running in background. The emacs minibuffer was situated
underneath the logout icon in right hand portion of the screeen which
may have caused the windowing problem.
