A brief synopsis of the problem:
A family of bugs when one is doing operations on oneself whereby the
instance id is ignored (ie: replay drmorris 1 => replay drmorris 0). This
probably causes some other breakage we grew to know and love.

Fix (if you know what it is):
The isme(request) macro does not take into account instance ids. However I
am unsure on what may depend on the ignoring of the instance is in the
comparison.
