Type and version:	CVAXSTAR 6.4R
Display type: SM

What were you trying to do?
	Start up a new xterm

What's wrong:
	The sequence of events:

I was trying to remember which button has the menu with the
scrollbar on it, so I hit the middle mouse button while in an xterm. (I
think that nothing was pasted.) Then I tried meta-middle-mouse-button.
My xterm disappeared. (I suppose it iconified, but I didn't think of
that at the time.) So then I went to another xterm and typed
	xterm &
At this point, my two existing xterms disappeared. Then the xterm that
I thought had gone away returned, without a prompt. Then my console
window said "Session terminated. Bye". (I *think* it said "Bye".) And
then I finished logging out!

I logged in again without reactivating my workstation, and checked out
/usr/adm/X0msgs, which had no interesting information. There was no
current core file in either / or in /usr/tmp.

What should have happened:
If my workstation had run out of memory it should have said so
and not killed my session! I'd be kind of unhappy if I thought that I
had run out of memory...

Other:
I was running one emacs, three xterms (assuming that one that
disappeared had actually been iconified), xclock, and xload, all under
mwm. I wasn't running any background processes. My dot files should all
be accessable, if you want to see them. My workstation is a vanilla
public configuration.
