I would like to suggest that the contents of the file
/usr/sipb/lib/tex/macros/simplemargins.sty be placed in
/usr/athena/lib/tex/macros/simplemargins.sty for the next release.
The purpose of that sty file is to make it easier for users to
change the margins of a latex file; the process of doing so in
standard latex is convoluted to say the least, and requires quite a
bit of explanation in order for the user to understand why it is the
way it is.
The sty file adds five new commands: \setleftmargin,
\setrightmargin, \settopmargin, \setbottommargin, and \setallmargins.
I wrote it, so questions about it can go to me.
