To: bugs@ATHENA.MIT.EDU From: Jerome H Saltzer <Saltzer@MIT.EDU> Date: Thu, 01 Feb 90 13:26:25 -0500 The problem I reported previously about emacs windows under mwm being offset from their intended position is more pervasive. It seems to affect all windows under mwm whose positions are specified with negative coordinates, at least when Mwm*positionOnScreen is set to false.. A spectacular example occurs with xmh. I have in my .Xresources file the following geometry specification: Xmh.geometry: 510x700+0-0 Xmh.compGeometry: 470x700-0-0 Xmh.replyGeometry: 470x700-0-0 Xmh.ViewGeometry: 470x700+0-0 Each successive reply window that xmh launches is offset from the previous reply window in the NorthWest direction, by the size of the mwm borders. After three or so replies, the top edge of further windows is well off the screen. Jerry
