What were you trying to do?
I tried to use xps to display a scribed file with graphics.
What's wrong:
1) The program bombed twice with the error "Illegal instruction"
2) xps is "too slow" to be practical. ~10 minutes per page is too
long for anyone to wait.
3) when xps is mapping pixels to the screen, I drag another window
over top of it. The the window (and xterm window) is dragged away,
the portion of the xps screen that was covered by the xterm window
is lost. This means (to me) that when xps is running, it should be
the window at the top most; no other window can be covering it. Well,
as big as the xps window is, that means the use cannot do anything
else while waiting for xps to display its page.
Xps never finished, so I don't know what is supposed to happen. I never
saw the graphic portion of my page.
What should have happened:
Well, xps should have runned properly, and with better speed to be
practical and useable.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
I used the file call thesis.PS to test xps. It is now only about 2
pages long, but has a postscript picture in it (created from idraw).
The file is located in /mit/tqpham/import/doc. I have made it world
readable so that you can duplicate the error.

Hope you get this fixed.
