Question:
I am trying to use troff and pscat to format and print some files.
Apparently it needs a file called /usr/athena/lib/ps/troff.font/Times.ct
Now I looked at the /usr/athena/lib/ps/troff.font directory, and there
seems to be a Makefile whose purpose is to create the .ct and .fp files
that pscat and ptroff need, but it seems that only the root can run the
Makefile. Could you please arrange to run the file (or do whatever else
is necessary if my diagnosis is wrong) to get pscat and ptroff to run?

Do you have any idea how long it will take (if it can be fixed at all
-- can it?) to generate the appropriate files? Won't running the Makefile
generate them?

That directory is on rvd and cannot be changed. Apparently the
"make clean" of the Makefiles gets rid of the .ct files.

Okay, the exact messages it gives are:
pscat: can't open file /Times.ct or (/usr/athena/lib/ps/troff.font//Times.ct)
troff: can't open tables for /ftXX/dev480.DESC.out

A mistake in my message: its the second error involves /ftXX/dev480/DESC.out
and not /ftXX/dev480.DESC.out
