As some of you know, I encountered trouble with this little beastie
not liking my workstation's IP address.
The incident made me aware of the fact that /etc/ifconfig AND
/etc/route are no longer included on the workstation's local disk.

This strikes me as imprudent, to say the least. Netconfig is a new
program, untested in the field. I would have thought it appropriate
to continue to include ifconfig and route for at least one release
cycle until netconfig was proven in public cluster use.
