when i am composing a message using a comp
window from xmh, it is sometimes convenient to
insert a file into the message. the meta-I binding
does that just fine. the difficulty is the interaction
between that and *&%^! mwm, specifically that the
dialogue box into which i should type the file name
for insertion is a child of the xmh parent, not the
comp window, and so the comp window is overwritten
with the xmh parent window and overwritten again
by the dialogue box (thank you, mwm). once i have
done the insertion, i now need to submerge the xmh
parent window to get back to what i was doing in the
comp window. in the setting i normally find myself,
there are 5 or so windows in that stack, sometimes
with multiple, but differing, comp operations going on.
this makes returning from my personal context switch a
bother, and unnecessarily so. foo.
