I'm not sure I understand the significance of the message
you forwarded to me. Does it imply that Ultrix doesn't
properly handle vs3100 modem ports either?
The operation of the modem port appears to depend on a
strict adherence to a sequence of events for it to work.
It does, in fact, work when I try a risc machine running
Ultrix and a modem that I currently use for the Athena
uucp dialup line.
Perhaps the Ultrix risc driver will give some hints on
what's wrong with the BSD vax driver.
