I've been using the 'dosread' command with the '-a' option on an IBM RT.
For some reason, the files that I read in have a couple of 'CONTROL-M' (^M)
characters thrown in randomly. (Which gets converted back to 'newline' when
doswrite -a is used). I have been getting rid of the the spurious ^M's by
editting with emacs, but I don't think they should be there in the first
place. What causes these ^M's to show up?
