Hi,

Normally I have no problems cutting and pasting between an xterm
window and an emacs window. But recently I have been unable to do it
after I was logged in for a while. It's weird, because when I first
logged in, I COULD cut in an xterm and paste in my Emacs, but then it
stopped working. When I tried pasting, I got the last thing I had cut
in my emacs buffer instead. I was able to paste what I had cut into
another xterm, so I know that the cut worked. I think that at this
point I could still go from Emacs to Xterm.

Later on, I was no longer able to go from Emacs to Xterm. It's like
the cut and paste buffers were just kept totally separate for the two
things.

I don't know whether this is significant, but both times this has
happened, I have been on Navigator and doing a lot of OLCR work. I
logged into a different workstation, money.mit.edu, and everything
worked fine. But I didn't have time to see whether it would fail
eventually on money as well.

This is actually a big pain, since whenver I send mail to someone
after they have logged out, I want to cut and paste the original
question from my olcr window to my emacs mail window.

My editor is /usr/athena/emacsclient.

Thanks for your help!
