All of a sudden, the mouse stopped working on W20-575-11, an RT.
Neither the buttons nor moving it did anything, and of course, the
mouse pointer wasn't in any window. This particular RT happens to be
between two other RT's with completely inoperative keyboards,
surrounded by another group which gives the mysterious "can't find a
pty/tty" message whenever anyone tries to log in.

I wonder if IBM knows how poorly Project Athena supports the machines
they've donated to MIT, and I wonder if they're at all concerned at
how this is making them look to MIT students. I wonder if I should
write them a letter telling them I'm not using an RT ever again
because support for them at Athena is apparently unimportant.

Fortunately, I had just saved my work, but I still was forced to log
in again, which now takes much longer under Release 6.3. I wish you
the best of luck on the new release--I hope users are taken into
consideration this time.
