I believe (rather strongly) that hide has a bug, or at least the
way I have tried to use it has caused it to act as if it does. In my
.xsession, I hide my console window. I hide each subsequent window I
create as well. The result is that for fingering purposes, I am not
logged on. Unfortunately, another result is that about two minutes
later, a window pops up indicating an xlogin error has occured, and the
machine deactivates. Perhaps /etc/athena/deactivate thinks that no one
is logged on, and deactivates normally? Thought I'd bring the situation
to your attention, even though I'm not sure if the watchmaker stuff is
supported.
