Good thinking. It turns out that that inspiration came to Jeff
Schiller just last Thursday. Following that lead John Kohl and Bill
Ruh were able to reliably reproduce and trace the scenario that
produces the bug using an RT. In turn, Ralph Swick was then able to
identify a select problem inside the X server as being the real
cause.
