Hi. Since I was actually the one whose problem stimulated this bug report,
I will tell you what happened:
My nfs locker is on erato. Another user whose nfs locker is also on erato
was trying to copy a file of mine. This file was in my home directory
(mode 755, mit group). The file had protection 750 and was in the mit group.
The error resulting was "permission denied." Jnrees's nfs locker is on
Eurydice. He tried to copy a file with the same conditions. Adding global
read access to the file enable him to read it. Before going to OLC with
my problem, I tested it as well with a local user on the workstation. This
user's password entry was as follows:
tempq:<encrypted password>:32767:101::/tmp/tempq:/bin/csh
This user could also not read the files. I then kinited this user with
the register user's tickets (the only password I know other than my own).
No change resulted. I have not tested this bug formally on any other
file server, but I think that I ran into it with files on priam as well...
