Program with which you had the problem: RS/1, Release 3
Name of person who discovered the bug:Pietro Mazzoni
Their MIT phone number:
Their MIT address:
Their Athena Login ID:pmazzoni
Name of consultant reporting bug: Krishna Sethuraman
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A brief synopsis of the problem:
3-d surface plotting features described in the manual do not exist.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please describe the problem in detail (mention any necessary files or
commands that may be involved, on which machine the bug happened, and what
the program did that was wrong):
In p. 5-21 of Book 2, Release 3 documentation, we have a listing of the editing
options for surface 3-d plots. ``Hidden'' is among the ones mentioned there,
while it doesn't appear at all in the menu when /mit/rs1.new/rs1 is actually
run.
Also, since rs1.old is no longer supported, procedures written for RS/1
don't work in the old version. The terminal type t4014 is undefined in the old
version of RS/1 (instead, t4105 is used) and previewing of plots is not
possible in the old version. Because of this, I had to refer the user to
matlab.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Repeat by (please enter a set of commands which will allow us to
repeat the bug):
/mit/rs1.new/rs1
create a 3-d graph
attempt to edit the 'surface' characteristics
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fix (if you know what it is):
Dunno. Please send all replies to krishna@athena.mit.edu and
pmazzoni@athena.mit.edu.
Thanks for your support,
Krishna Sethuraman
