Some bits are missing -- i.e., black pixels where there should be white.
The screen is still readable, but it's like looking through a wire
mesh.
My emacs displays identical splotches regardless of where it is on the
screen when I hit ^L to refresh it.
I don't know if this is a hardware or a software problem....
