states that
-p Use pr(1) to format the files (equivalent to print).
it should also state that the -p option is only useful for plaintext
files (i.e., -p is useless for dvi files, screen dumps, plot data,
etc.)
additionally,
-c This option is currently disabled. Previously, this
option activated landscape mode for LN01 printers.
(When an LN01 printer is in landscape mode, it prints
horizontally along the long dimension as opposed to the
short dimension of the paper.) This option will be
enabled when the landscape mode software has been
fixed.
not only has this not been fixed (to my knowledge), but
we don't do business with LN01's anymore.
and,
-f Use a filter which interprets the first character of
each line as a standard FORTRAN carriage control char-
acter.
my knowledge indicates that we don't support this filter on
postscript printers (I have not tried it on other printer types).
in short, lpr needs a lot of reconsideration.
