A brief synopsis of the problem:
The console window does not always display text correctly. It
tends to munge larger strings (say > 50 characters) by misplacing
carraige returns and characters.

Repeat by (please enter a set of commands which will allow us to
repeat the bug):
attach hkbirke
cat /mit/hkbirke/debug > /dev/ttyv0
then select the lines around the one with the single G on it...
they change

Fix (if you know what it is):
fix the toolkit (I assume that this is a toolkit problem).
