I haven't been able to run gcc in the afs space. I get the
error "ld:gnulib: cannot open" followed by an exit.
Does gnulib need to be "chmod a+x" ?
Note, I do have "/afs/athena/astaff/project/gccdev/vax" in my path,
so it should be finding gnulib (which lives there). It seems to be
an access problem ?? (I also have done an aklog very recently).
