I run a lot of programs on morgan and as a general rule am at the upper
limit of my memory. Strange things start to happen. Here are what some
random programs I run do. If you would like to know how another
programs acts, ask me. I'll be happy to try.
morgan % pstat -s
15574k used (4260k text), 602k free, 3714k wasted, 288k missing
avail: 2*64k 5*32k 4*16k 250*1k
Seg viols and core dumps:
olc_answers, zwgc (sometimes)
Bus errors:
attach, detach, xterm (sometimes), zwgc (sometimes)
Reports "No more processes." (slightly incorrect, but good enough):
xman, xload, xclock, xterm (sometimes), xscreensaver, xdsc
Reports "Not enough memory" (the Right answer!):
emacs, vi, scribe
If I may dream a little, it would be nice to all of them report "Not
enough memory".
